WSVMA Veterinarian of the Year
The “WSVMA Veterinarian of the Year” award is presented in recognition of an outstanding career in veterinary medicine through local, state, or national veterinary associations. Contributions to their practice, community, and other professional endeavors are considered. A veterinarian receiving the “Veterinarian of the Year” award must be a WSVMA member. However, nominations can be made by a non-veterinarian or a non-member.
Distinguished Achievement Award
The “Distinguished Achievement” award is presented to an individual or group of individuals in recognition of a singular outstanding achievement in veterinary medicine, public service, or other field of endeavor which reflects honor on the veterinary profession. Neither the individual or group of individuals have to be a veterinarian. However, any individual who is a veterinarian and receives this award must be a WSVMA member.
Outstanding Veterinary Service
The WSVMA Awards Committee developed a new award that recognizes WSVMA member veterinarians who have been an excellent representative of the profession through veterinary service and/or active community involvement. Consideration is given for service and actions that have made a meaningful contribution or impact on the veterinary community and/or the public. Nominators must be a WSVMA member.
WSU Faculty Member of the Year
The “WSU Faculty Member of the Year” award is presented to recognize a WSU faculty member who has served members of the WSVMA with distinction. Please describe specific accomplishments in the last three years that qualifies this person to be nominated for the “WSU Faculty Member of the Year” award. This individual does not have to be a WSVMA member. Nominations must be made by a WSVMA member.
Distinguished Veterinary Staff Award
The “Distinguished Veterinary Staff” award is presented to an individual who has gone above and beyond the expected responsibilities of the practice to provide outstanding client and patient service. The nominating veterinarian must be a member of the WSVMA.
Humane Animal Welfare Award
The “Humane Animal Welfare” award is presented to a non-veterinary individual or group that has advanced animal welfare through extraordinary service. The nominator must be a member of the WSVMA and the nominee must reside in Washington State or be a Washington State-based organization.
Allied Industry Award
The “Allied Industry” award recognizes an individual who has provided exceptional service to the veterinary profession and/or the WSVMA. Nominations must be made by a WSVMA Member.
